If you’re on a budget, that doesn’t mean you’re stuck with garbage names. You just need to do some digging. Focus on undervalued domains. They do exist. Sometimes the seller doesn’t realize what they’ve got, or perhaps they prefer to sell quickly and cheaply and move on. To each their own.
First, we’ll take a look at GoDaddy Auctions. You’ll need an account to get started.
We’re going to use the “Advanced Search” feature.
Select “Public Buy Now” & “Closeout Listings” & set a price range of $0.00 to $50.00 (or whatever your max price is). You can also refine by extension (such as .com), domain age, etc.
Now hit “Run Search” and view the results. You can sort results by price, estimated value, and more. For our example, we’re going to go with price. As you can see, there are domains as cheap as $5.00 (plus renewal). The trick is to sort the wheat from the chaff. Most names will be lower quality however if you..
You can also search by keyword. So if, for example, you’re looking for a crypto related domain, just enter “crypto” into the keywords box and off you go. (Make sure to change the default setting from “Exact Match” to “Contains” otherwise your results will be very limited.)
You can also use this method at other marketplaces such as Sedo. Same idea. Search, filter results by price, find stuff as cheap as $20.00.
Other sources of undervalued domains: Message boards & forums. For example, NamePros.com.. Check out their marketplace. Lots of bargains to be had.
Get creative with it. Search for lesser known marketplaces, search deleted domains too. You can definitely find some undervalued drops.
